Support Me on Patreon

My Patreon page is now live!

Moment of honesty here: I’ve been struggling. I’ve been struggling financially to do everything I want to do with my writing. Book covers, interior formatting, book signings –none of this is getting any cheaper. I do the best I can, but for the first time I’m asking for some help from you guys.

If you’d like to help me release more content (aka more books and more book signings), I’m on Patreon. Starting for as low as $1 a month you can help me reach my goals while also receiving great rewards. The more you spend, the better the rewards!

Now if Patreon isn’t your sort of thing, that’s ok. There are many other ways to support my writing if Patreon isn’t something you want to participate in. But I hope you’ll at least check out my page and see what it has to offer you.

The goal with Patreon is to have support so I can better release content more quickly –meaning less of a wait time for you and more books out in the world.

Of course if Patreon isn’t your cup of tea, buying any of my books, sharing promo materials, and just participating in general with cover reveals and release days all still help support my writing.

Thanks so much you guys. Regardless of how this goes, I can’t thank you enough for the support you’ve given me.

Summary:

Death does not wear a mask.

Clara Nasso is plagued with the knowledge of secrets. The secrets her mother, Nina, hid for twenty years.

After a life threatening event in Rajoor, Clara returns to Ninomay. That morning she and her companions are greeted with the news. There’s been a murder.

Chaos erupts, suspects are arrested, and paranoid spreads like wildfire. All the while secrets about Nina’s past prove to be more twisted than anyone imagined.

One murder escalates into a series of killings. Bloodshed hits close to home, and Clara is forced to battle her inner demons. She develops a closer relationship with Ezra and Lukas, one who has killed for her, the other who claims to love her. The killer’s unpredictable and gruesome maneuvers force them to set aside their own personal desires.

A new figure emerges from the shadows. Someone with no set alliance, who can either help Ninomay or watch the island bleed.

With countless lives at stake, Clara questions the loyalty of those closest to her. Can Clara unveil the killer before another person dies?

To say I’ve been eagerly awaiting the moment when I could share this cover would be an understatement. This book means a lot to me. I’ve been working on it for about a year now, and it’s finally coming to life.

When I first went to Lori about the cover I told her I wanted it to give a mysterious feel to readers. I wanted someone to resemble Clara on the front, but I also wanted a forest in the background again –this time proving to be more dark and perhaps dangerous than the first one we saw on the cover of Clara and Claire.

In Clara and Claire, Clara entered into  world she knew nothing about. In the sequel Clara re-enters Ninomay, knowing more than she ever did before, but this time seeing how a murder affects the island and the people around her.

I have so much to share with you guys about this book, and this is only a glimpse at what’s to come. If everything goes according to plan, I’ll be live on Instagram later tonight to answer any of your questions –without spoiling anything of course.

As for the cover, go give some love to Hell Yes Design Studio’s page for the amazing work. And please, if you’re able to, share it around on your social media. The more people that see it, the more people will see this book is releasing this year.

Thank you so much to everyone for their support today!

2 days until COVER REVEAL DAY

candy cover reveal

Cover reveal news!

I’ve decided October 3rd –this Wednesday–will be the cover reveal for Clara and Ezra.

Why so soon and with such little notice? Well, because I’ve been waiting a long time to share this cover with you guys, and I didn’t think it was necessary to make me or you wait any longer!

So this Wednesday I’ll be sharing the cover reveal. The cover will be going up on all of my social media, as well as on Goodreads with the book’s page.

As for what you can do on cover reveal day?

There are a bunch of ways you can help:

  • share the cover –retweet, share, blog about it. Whatever you want. The more it’s shared, the more eyes that see it, and the more people who will know this book is coming out this fall
  • remember to use the hashtag #Claraandezra
  • encourage your friends to share too –again, the more the merrier

I’m always hyped for cover reveal days. I’ll probably be going live on Instagram that night to talk more about the cover, answer any questions you guys have about the book, and just hopefully hang out with some fellow writers and readers.

If you want to participate in sharing let me know, and I can send the cover as well as the official summary directly to you.

Thanks again everyone for your patience!

Clara and Ezra on Goodreads

Clara and Ezra is officially up on Goodreads, so if you’re as excited for the release of this book as I am you can go ahead and add it your reading list.

The official cover isn’t up yet, but I’ll be uploading that to Goodreads as well in October when I do the cover reveal.

For right now the publication date says “November 2018,” so that’ll be updated when I have an actual release date set.

But in the mean times I hope you guys will check it out. The official summary is up on Goodreads, so if you needed a refresher or you haven’t gotten a chance to ready the summary yet, please go check it out.
Thanks again for all the support!

Clara and Ezra -off to beta readers

reading

Clara and Ezra is off to my beta readers for one final read through before I approve this for publication.

Tonight I thought I’d catch you up on everything that’s happened with finishing the book, and everything that’s to come in the next two months with preparing the book for publication.

I finished the 2nd draft of Clara and Ezra at 71,989 words.

Now, at the end of the 3rd draft, I’m at an end total of 90,065 words. That’s a total of 18,076 new words that were added in from the 2nd to 3rd draft. It didn’t come easily and it sure as h*ll didn’t happen fast, but this book is finally where I want it to be.

The third draft of this book made me realize a lot of things. One, I’m not a fast writer. I try to stick to a schedule, but sometimes I fall off that schedule, sometimes my muse hides from me, something I just don’t have the energy.

And two, I’m finally happy with this book. When I finished the 2nd draft I knew I still had work to do. I wasn’t satisfied. I felt like so much was missing. The book was too short, and there were still parts I wanted to add in that had previously been left out.

Now I’m finally at a point with this book where I can actually say I’m done. Hence, it’s off to my beta readers, so I can finally get someone else’s opinion besides my own.

As for what’s to come next?

While my beta readers have the book I’m going to be planning the cover reveal and starting work on my next project. It’s a secret for the moment, and probably won’t be revealed until Clara and Ezra releases, but I’m ready to dive into a new story.

The cover reveal will be happening sometime in October. Before Halloween. I don’t have a date yet, but I’m working on it. If you’d like to participate in the cover reveal let me know and stay tuned.

As for the release date, I’m still planning and hoping for a November release. Worse case scenario, I push it back to early December. But this book is definitely coming out before Christmas. And honestly? It needs to come out before December 4th because that’s the 2 year anniversary for Clara and Claire.

That’s pretty much where we are with Clara and Ezra right now, and I’ll keep you guys posted once I have more to share.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and support!

Clara and Ezra release news

Sometimes you’ve got to set your own deadlines. And we’ll it’s official, I’ve set one for the release of Clara and Ezra.

The book will be releasing in November of 2018 –that’s still this year, folks!

I’ve been working on this book for a year now. It’s had its ups and downs, it’s endured long breaks and personal emergencies that kept me from writing, it’s seen so many changes with each new draft.

And I’m eager to get it out into the world, into your hands.

So I’m setting November as the release month. I’m planning to finish draft #3 these next couple of weeks. There’s a lot still left to do. I feel like I’ve been saying that for a while now. So it’s down to business!

I’ve been working late at night and during my lunch breaks to get this book done.

Thank you for the patience and support. Here’s to reaching that deadline!

Not too much longer of a wait now!

August Goals

August is here, and before we know it summer will be over.

I have one goal for August: to finish Clara and Ezra.

This book has taken longer than I had intended, but with good reason. There have been breaks, personal set backs, and issues within the story itself that have challenged me. And of course the word count issue, being that the 2nd draft of the book was too short and didn’t hit close enough to 90k.

90k is a tough goal to reach. I’m more than halfway done in terms of reaching this goal, and I still feel like it is far from my grasp.

This month I am taking a long vacation, but when I come back I intend to be properly fueled with motivation and determined to get this book done.

I still intend to release the book before the end of this year, and if that means losing a few hours of sleep to get there I’ll do it.

This month I want to focus on finishing the book. Then we can talk about everything that happens next. But first… let’s get this thing done!

P.S. thank you to everyone for this patience! I’ve spent so much time on this book, and my hope is that it will reflect as such when the book becomes available to you. Thank you so much ❤️
